Pre-Production

After we formed our group, we decided to use the original script given in the production design pathway as a starting point in writing our film - this is so that we would not have to write a whole new script from scratch. After re-reading the script together we then discussed how we would alter the script so that we could merge Anastasia's idea of an experimental piece while also keeping some aspects of the original script. We finally came up with the idea of changing Joe to a female protagonist who was a struggling filmmaker who then loses her grip on reality.

After the edits and comments, Anastasia and Bethany created rewrote the script and we then began color-coding to its relevant categories.

After finalizing the script, we then created the treatment for the film - which explains the details of our short film. An indication of the visual concept of the film: style, space, light, colour, set decorations, etc. The final treatment link here.

After completing the moodboards, treatment and script breakdown, I used these to create a prop list - indicating what we would need to buy, create, or borrow from university.

I decided to created to birthday card designs from scratch so that it would be more personalised to Joe's character.
